It had been a long time since I had built any sort of Gundam models at the time. The time was around February 8th of last year, which I was at the same time really getting into Gundam Breaker 3 for the Playstation 4. Somehow along the way, I got really into the Hazel Custom kit from the Advance of Zeta manga series; which is one of many mobile suits found within the game. Never even read the manga, and since they didn’t have any animated series showcasing the suit, it was hard to imagine outside of the game. While they didn’t have the stock RX-121 Hazel Custom in the game, it had one of the other variants; the RX-121-2A Advanced Hazel. From there, it became my main focused suit as I progressed through the base part of the game, as well as the five DLCs that the game had.

The problem with doing a build like this was that it had been a long time since I’ve put one together, let alone invest the amount of time needed to get the kit to look as close as possible to the game version. This was clearly a challenge since not only did I lack in the proper equipment and supplies, I’ve been quite out of practice among other things. Despite that, I pressed on. In between work, Twitch streams, and other IRL priorities, I managed to get this kit completed within a two month span. That’s not to say that it took that long, but rather in between two months, I was still transitioning between two areas for building this, as well as learning on the use of putty, sanding/filing down surfaces, and overall pouring my heart and soul, in addition to butchering other kits to make this work. The hardest part wasn’t to get the Jegan’s main thruster to attach to the Hazel’s backpack, but more of gutting out the funnel racks and then attaching them to the Hazel itself. While its not the best work that I’m able to do, it’s probably the best compared to when I started building them back in middle school, all for the love of Gundam.
